Playing Operation with UR5e Arm and 2F-140 End Effector
Operation is a classic board game that can help children practice body coordination, as it requires precise control in order to remove the pieces successfully. We have replicated the operation game with 3d models of the pieces and the board in ROS with Gazebo. We then control the UR5e arm to performing the task of gripping designated pieces from the cavities on the board.
We encountered many challenges while working on this project. For example, sometimes the robot would spaz out erratically or collide with the ground, and we needed to scale up the game board so the cavities were large enough for the end effector to reach into.
